Elyria, Lorain blotter: Men wearing ‘Ghostface’ masks allegedly shot children with paintballs

Wednesday, Dec. 4

  • 3:45 p.m. — Palm Avenue, someone told police that men wearing “Ghostface” masks from the movie “Scream” drove by children and shot at them with paintballs.
  • 4 p.m. — 2400 block Homewood Drive, a woman told police someone threw or shot paintballs through her window screen, breaking the screen and hitting the window panes.
  • 10:28 p.m. — 1800 block E. 36th St., a woman told police her Christmas ornaments were stolen from her house. Police found the ornaments smashed on the road and questioned two teenagers who admitted to stealing and breaking the ornaments. The woman said she wouldn’t press charges if they paid for the ornaments.

Thursday, Dec. 5

  • 7 a.m. — 2100 block Lorain Drive, a woman told police her cousin was in her room and took photos of himself standing in her room. She said he also smoked cigarettes and threw her belongings around the area but didn’t steal anything.
  • 10:05 a.m. — 200 block W. 20th St., a woman told police she had an argument with her boyfriend as they were driving and when they stopped, he got out of the car and took her cell phone with him. She added that he then broke the rear window of her car.

Wednesday, Dec. 4

  • 6:39 p.m. —EMH Elyria Medical Center, 630 E. River St., an 18-year-old man said he was walking in the parking lot of the DM Mart, 128 Lake Ave., when he was approached by a man he had previously fought with in a juvenile detention facility. The complainant, whose face was swollen, according to police, said he was punched in the face four times by the man.
  • 7:59 p.m. —200 block Washington Ave., a woman said between 5:30 and 7 p.m., someone stole a television from her apartment while she was out. Police said the woman’s front screen window was cut.

Thursday, Dec. 5

  • 3:04 a.m. —100 block Tedman Court, Michael Ward, 24, 4700 block Chelsea Drive, Lorain, arrested and charged with domestic violence. A woman who has four children with Ward said he came to her home and they argued over money. The woman, who police said had bruising, marks and scratches on her neck, said Ward choked her and banged her head against the wall several times. She said she was eventually able to push Ward away, hide upstairs and call her mother, who called police. Police said they found Ward sleeping in a chair in the home.

    A woman said her cousin took a picture of himself with his phone in her room. Than smoked cigarettes and, threw her stuff around the room. LOL
