LORAIN — A house fire at 1030 W. 21st St., called in about 1:15 p.m. Thursday caused no injuries, but displaced a family of four.
When firefighters arrived about three minutes after the call, heavy smoke was visible from the second floor, according to Assistant Fire Chief Roy Cochran. A woman and her daughter, who were home when the fire broke out, were outside the home when firefighters arrived.
Cochran said the fire was contained about 1:35 p.m. It caused about $20,000 in damage to the home and $10,000 to belongings. The family is being assisted with temporary housing by the American Red Cross Lorain County chapter.
