Robert E. Cutter “Bob”

OBIT FLAGcutterRobertRobert E. Cutter “Bob”, 65, of Castalia, Ohio, passed away peacefully Friday, December 6, 2013 at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital in Hinsdale, Illinois. He was born March 9, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of James and Marion (nee Weissmann, deceased) of Burlington, Connecticut.

Bob was a previous resident of Bristol, Connecticut, where he worked at General Motors “GM”. In 1994, Bob transferred along with many of his colleagues from the GM Bristol plant to the Delphi then KBI plant in Sandusky and after 38 years of dedication, retired in January 2012.

Bob proudly and courageously served our country in the Army, 101st Airborne Air Assault, Special Forces during the Vietnam War where he earned the Brave Eagle Coin, Air Medal, and Bronze Star for meritorious achievement in ground operations.

He was a member of the Lions Club and American Legion Post of Terryville, Connecticut. Bob loved fishing, classic TV, gardening and tinkering in his workshop. He was an avid bird fancier and animal lover. Bob enjoyed the company of good friends and family especially around a roaring fire at the farm. He valued the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Jenifer M. (nee Kodysh); father, James (Gladys); sons, Jacob (Amy), Ben, James; step children, Karen (Mark) Moloney, James Hooper; six grandchildren; siblings, Cliff (Pat), Kathy (Larry) Lagace, Cheryl (Joe) Kelaita, Audrey (Jack) Evans; along with nieces and nephews.

At the request of the family, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 3 to 7 P.M. at David F. Koch Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 16, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 25801 Royalton Rd., Columbia Station.
