Tuanita Jean Smith

SmithTuanitTuanita Jean Smith, 53, formerly of Elyria, passed away in her home Monday, December 9, 2013 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, following a lengthy illness. Tuanita was born June 22, 1960 in Elyria.

She attended Gates Elementary, Franklin, and Jefferson in Elyria. She also attended Chattanooga State College, where she received her GED, and her Certification as a Nurses Assistant. She was employed at Rest Care Nursing Home in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Tuanita was known to most as Ms. T. She had an excitement for life, nature, and loved for her family. She enjoyed making people smile.

Tuanita is survived by her father, Raymond Augustus Smith; her children, Andrew, Anthony, Josephine Arnett and Terrence Rimbert; grandchildren, Tony, Erin, Terrence and Anissa; two sisters, LaTanya Rainey, LaToya (Charles) Hunter; two brothers, Michael and Danny Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other loving relatives.

In death she went home to her mother, Dorothy Lee Jean Smith; maternal grandmother, Josephine Marie Chaney; paternal grandmother, Geneva Williams, brother, Raymond A Smith, Jr.; granddaughter, Jonita Lee Jean Arnett; and cousin, Jonathan Chaney.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013, from 11 A.M. until 12 P.M., at God’s Kingdom International Ministries, 1617 North Ridge Road, Lorain, where Apostle Charles Howard is the Pastor. Reverand Calvin Currie, Assistant Minister at Mt Zion Baptist Church in Elyria, will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery.
