Deatera “Dee” L. Peters

Deatera “Dee” L. Peters, 53, and a resident of Elyria, went home to be with her Savior Jesus ChristPeters_Deatera the Lord on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria following a sudden illness. She was born August 28, 1960 in Amherst.

Dee was raised in Amherst, graduating from Marion L. Steele High School in the class of 1979. She had made her home for most of her life in Amherst until moving to Elyria several months ago. She received employment through the local Sodxco Company as a cook. Dee attended the Family Fellowship Foursquare Church, as well as the Freedom House both in Amherst. Dee loved to socialize with her friends and family. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her niece and nephew.

Survivors include her parents, Richard E. and Moureen Peters (nee McManus) of Amherst; her brother, Richard Elmer Peters, II of South Amherst; her niece, Breanna Peters and nephew, Cory Peters.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey Allen Peters in 1981; her sister, Ronda Ann Peters in 2008.

A Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 6 P.M. at Freedom House Church, 1240 Park Avenue, Amherst,. The Rev. Paul Anthony Gonzalez, pastor will officiate.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
