Dennis J. Stumphauzer, 44, of Elyria passed away Tuesday December 10, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain from an apparent heart attack. He was born July 20, 1969 in Lorain and was a lifelong Elyria resident.
Dennis was employed by I.B.E.W. Local 129 through Firelands Electric. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Elyria, a 1987 Elyria West High School graduate, was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed cooking. Dennis was a perfectionist in everything he did from his family to his home and to his job.
Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Kelly (nee Terpylak); daughter, Lea Stumphauzer; son, Dillan Stumphauzer; parents, Joseph and Gloria Stumphauzer of Avon; sister, Donna (Bill) Prostejovsky of Wellington; brothers, Dale (Angie) and Joe (Kim) of Lorain and Dave (Chris)of Wellington; 15 nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Helen Terpylak of Oberlin; father and step mother-in-law, Dennis and Lynn Terpylak of Florence, Kentuckey; brother-in-law, Dennis Terpylak of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel “Moe” Stumphauzer.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 4 to 7 P.M. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday December 18, 2013 at 10 A.M. at St. Vincent Depaul Church, 41295 North Ridge Rd., Elyria. (Please meet at the Church). The Rev. Fr. Donald Dunson, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to a trust fund in Dennis’s name at any Lorain National Bank branch for his children.
