Josephine A. “JoAnn” Eichenlaub (nee Cosgrave), 87, of Elyria, passed away, surrounded by her loving family at home, Saturday December 14, 2013, following a long illness. She was born June 29, 1926 in Cleveland.
JoAnn was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an avid reader, enjoyed travel, playing golf, all types of sports, and was politically and socially active in the community.
Survivors include a daughter, Marsha M. Price (Ted) of Avon Lake; three sons, John L., Jr. (Robin) of Akron, Andrew D. (Rita) of Avon, Matthew J. (Kimberly) of Elyria. Additional survivors include 19 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
JoAnn was preceded in death in 2000 by her husband of 52 years, John L., Sr.; two sons, Dick and Christopher; her parents, Louis D. and Josephine R. (nee McLaughlin) Cosgrave; two brothers; and two sisters.
Family will receive friends 4 until 8 P.M., Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626, where closing prayers will be at 9:30 A.M., Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M., Thursday, December 19, 2013, at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Ave. Elyria, where Reverend Father Charles T. Diedrick, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria.
