James W. Exline, 71, of North Ridgeville, formerly of Grafton, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the Center Ridge Health Campus in North Ridgeville, following a long illness. He was born September 6, 1942 in Connellsville, Pennsylvania. Mr. Exline had been a resident of Lorain County for many years.
He was a retired school bus driver for Midview Schools. He also owned his own business, Hang-Ups by Exline. Mr. Exline was also formerly employed at the Larson foundry in Grafton and at McDonald’s in Sheffield Lake.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in North Ridgeville, Clowns of America, Elywood Clowns and of IOF Foresters. Mr. Exline was a former member of the Masons and of the Scottish Rite. He was also a former Boy Scout troop leader. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping, bike riding and going to Amish Country.
He is survived by his daughter, Heidi Exline of Grafton; son, Ben Exline of Georgia; foster son, Dennis Borowski of Columbus; grandsons, James Hunter Exline and Jeremy Jason; granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Exline; great granddaughter, Chanthy Khan; and by his granddaughter-in-law, Sohkom Khan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Exline in 2009; son, Eric Exline in 1978; daughter, Joy Kidd-Exline in 2012; and by his parents, Wilbur and Gertrude Exline.
A memorial service will be Monday, December 23, 2013 at 11 A.M. at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Rev. Jeff Dayton, Chaplain with Bayview Hospice, will officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Grace Baptist Church of North Ridgeville.
