Body pulled from water in Sheffield Lake

SHEFFIELD LAKE — The Sheffield Lake Fire Department retrieved the body of an adult man from Lake Erie on Friday afternoon.

About 1 p.m., a man reported seeing the body stuck in the rocks by the Sheffield Lake boat launch near the intersection of East Lake and Lake Breeze roads.

Sheffield Lake Fire Chief Tim Card said it looked like the body had been in the water for at least a day.

The man was described as an older white man wearing a red, zip-up hooded sweatshirt and black gloves.

No identification has been made, and no further details were available Friday.
