Man charged in North Ridgeville shooting

NORTH RIDGEVILLE – A 20-year-old Cleveland man has been charged with shooting two men on Sunday afternoon.

Antoine Johnson was charged with two counts of felonious assault, according to a news release from North Ridgeville police. Information on a second suspect in the case was not released.

Police said Daniel McCarthy, 20, of North Ridgeville, and Johnathon Hasselbach, 20, of North Olmsted, were shot at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in a house on Reed Road in North Ridgeville, according to the release.

North Ridgeville Police Lt. Greg Petek said in the release that the men’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Petek said the two suspects fled on foot and were caught on Island Road near Don Mould’s Plantation about 20 minutes after the shooting.

Johnson will be arraigned today through Elyria Municipal Court and the investigation is ongoing, according to police.
