Sheffield Lake Police identify man pulled from Lake Erie

SHEFFIELD LAKE – Police have identified the man whose body was found in Lake Erie on Friday.

Robert Remec, 56, of Sunset Avenue, was last seen by his family on Wednesday, according to Sheffield Lake Police. Remec’s body was pulled from the rocks at the Sheffield Lake boat launch near the intersection of East Lake and Lake Breeze roads.

Lorain County Coroner Dr. Stephen Evans said the cause of death was drowning. Police said foul play has been ruled out.

Remec’s death remains under investigation.
