Florence “Mamaw” McCabe (nee Fisher), 88 years old, of Elyria, died at Center Ridge Health Campus in North Ridgeville on Saturday, December 21, 2013. She was born October 5, 1925 in Evansville, Tennessee and made her home in Elyria for most of her life, where she spent her time as a homemaker.
She was a member of Midway Baptist Church. An avid Cleveland Indians fan, she enjoyed vegetable gardening and her flower garden.
Florence is survived by three daughters, Fran (Paul) Reinoehl of Elyria, Brenda (Steve) Ervin and Evelyn Fisher, both of Maryland; one son, Rick (Wanda) McCabe of New Jersey; five grandchildren, Paula Evans, Christine Slattery, Melanie Cikalo, Ryan McCabe, and Jimmy Fisher; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Harold Fisher of Spring City, Tennessee; and three sisters, Rebecca Boles of Spring City, Evelyn Kendrick of Harriman, Tennessee, and Joe Clark of Milan, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn McCabe in 1992; three brothers, Horace and Morgan and Luther Fisher; two sisters, Cratie Becker and Mary Kelley; and her parents, Mordie and Edith (nee Smith) Fisher.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Thursday, December 26, 2013, from 5 until 7:30 P.M. Funeral services will be Friday, December 27, 2013, 11 A.M., at the Midway Baptist Church, 41812 Griswold Road, Elyria, with the Reverend Charles Keesee, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
