Police warn of Lorain daytime burglaries

LORAIN — A rash of burglaries has occurred in the 4th Ward in recent days, according to police.

The suspect knocks on doors or rings doorbells of homes in the daytime and if no one is home, smashes windows to gain entry, according to a department news release Monday.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 5-feet, 10-inches, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with a logo and gray sweatpants.

The ward includes parts of Broadway to Tower Boulevard and Leavitt Road south to Cooper Foster Park Road.

Anyone with information should call police at (440) 204-2100 or text 847411.
