Thomas “Dwight” Hissem, 65, of Parma, died suddenly at home, on Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Mr. Hissem was born on May 30, 1947 in Elyria and lived in the Lorain area for most of his life, moving to Parma four years ago.
He attended Elyria High School and was a veteran of the United States Marines. He was employed as a millwright at the Elyria Foundry and most recently as a temp at N.A.S.A. He was a golfer and he loved billiards. An animal lover, he had two dogs at home.
Surviving him are his wife of 15 years, Judith “Jodi” Sabo; and one son, Brett (Eliza) Gentkowski of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Hissem and Maxine (Nutter) Prock.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria, on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 12 Noon until the time of Memorial Service at 2 P.M., with Pastor David Rowlands officiating.
