Virgie Baker (nee Napier) of North Ridgeville, passed away Monday, December 23, 2013, at St. John Medical Center in Westlake, following a short illness. She was born in Wayne, West Virginia, and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 39 years, moving from Columbia Station.
Virgie worked as a tow motor operator for American Can (formerly Dow Chemical Company) in Cleveland for 40 years, retiring in 1990. She attended Sheffield Church of God and was a member of North Ridgeville VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 9871. She enjoyed playing Bingo, bowling, camping and was an excellent cook.
Survivors include her daughters, Gloria (David) Kradlak of North Ridgeville, Doris Green of North Eaton; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great- grandchildren; and brother, Artie Napier of West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd in 1997; parents, French and Elizabeth Napier; 19 siblings; and son-in-law, James Green in 2007.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 27, 2013, 10 A.M., at Sheffield Church of God, 2280 N. Abbe Rd., Sheffield. Pastor Scott Skeens will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
