Richard E. Peters, 77, of Lorain, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013, at his home in Lorain, following a lengthy illness. He was born October 31, 1936 in Elyria. Richard lived in Amherst for many years before moving to Lorain where he resided until his passing.
Richard was employed as a truck driver for Rapid Air Freight. He attended Freedom House Church in Amherst. Richard lived his life as a family man. He took great pride in providing for his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Moureen Peters (nee McManus) of Lorain; his son, Richard Elmer Peters, II of South Amherst; his grandchildren, Breanna Peters and Cory Peters; and his sister and her husband, Beverly and Ron Bock of Grove City, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Allen Peters in 1981; his daughters, Ronda Ann Peters on October 15, 2008; Deatera “Dee” Peters on December 11, 2013; brother, Allen Peters; sister, Linda Chal; and his parents, Elmer and Ethel Peters (nee Yorks).
Memorial Services will be held Friday, January 3, 2014, at 6 P.M., at Freedom House Church, 1240 Park Avenue, Amherst. The Reverend Paul Anthony Gonzalez, Pastor, will officiate.
