Jack D. Gray

OBIT FLAGJack D. Gray, 67, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, December 23, 2013. He was born July 13, 1946, in Jonesboro, Tennessee.

Jack served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was awarded a Purple Heart medal. Jack enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and golf.

Survivors include two daughters, Kim Parry (Johnny) and Becky Echeverria, both of Arizona; and a son, Jimmy Gray (Sherry) of Utah. Additional survivors include three sisters, Barb Suster of Elyria, Cathy Brown (Rick) of Sheffield Village, Eva Speakman of Leesburg; two brothers, Jerry Gray of Elyria, Wayne Gray (Lora) of Texas; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Jean (nee Griffith) Gray; and a brother, Larry Gray.

The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until time of Funeral Service at 1 P.M., Friday, January 3, 2014, at Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria, 440-322-4626. V.F.W. Post #1079 will provide full military honors at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
