Karlton “Motown” Mosby, 56, of Elyria, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013, at New Life Hospice Center, following a sudden illness. He was born March 15, 1957 in Oberlin.
Karlton was employed at Jack Knight Cleaners. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, working on cars, grilling, and cooking.
Mr. Mosby is survived by his mother, Marva Anthony of Madison, Alabama; longtime companion, Brenda L. Johnson of Elyria; children, Karlton Mosby, Jr. of Columbus, Kevin Mosby, Kody Mosby, Tamika James, all of Elyria, stepdaughter, Kisha Jackson of Elyria; seven grandchildren; siblings, Regina Coleman, Joyce Todd, Monica Davis, Ken Harris, Chris Johnson, Tyrone, Kenny and Isiah Thorpe, and Iris Hammons.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Thorpe; and daughter, Kendra M. Mosby.
Memorial service will be 3 until 5 P.M., Saturday, January 4, 2014, at One Body In Christ Fellowship Ministries, 600 Delaware Avenue, Elyria. Pastor James Wells, Jr. will officiate.
