Man found dead in vehicle in Elyria

ELYRIA – Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a vehicle early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to T&A Bar, 801 Foster Ave., at about 2:41 a.m. for a report of shots fired, according to Capt. Chris Costantino.

Upon arrival, officers found a silver Chevy Equinox stuck in a snowdrift near the intersection of Foster and Lake avenues. The vehicle was running, with the tires spinning in the snow, Costantino said.

When officers approached the vehicle, they observed what appeared to be several bullet holes in the driver’s side of the vehicle, and the driver’s side window was shattered, Costantino said.

A 22-year-old black male was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat, Costantino said. Medical personnel determined the victim was dead, and detectives and the Lorain County Coroner were called to the scene.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle when police arrived, Costantino said.

The investigation is ongoing, and an autopsy is scheduled to determine cause of death.

The victim’s identity will not be released until his family has been notified.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Elyria Police Department at (440) 323-3302.

It’s easy to figure out who this is. The good die young is what friends are saying. I do feel bad for the people who loved him and this city for all the killing that has been going on but this guy was a drug dealer. If you deal in crime you’ll end up in prison or in an early grave. I hope this city can take a turn for the best but it’s doubtful. More and more businesses closing everyday. No jobs higher crime rate.

    • Peter Aldrich

Not doubting you, but do you know for fact he was a dealer? If so, sorry for his loss of life, but thinning of the herd

Yes, he has several trafficking of cocaine charges. As well well as other drug charges, domestic violence, and driving under suspension.

        • Paris Adams

Please tell me what that has to do with someone dying? I pray that u your dirty laundry is never aired in case of your unfortunate death.

      • Thats it

We all have done criminal acts be it big or small to say something like that just shows your stupidity. “He who is without sin cast the first stone”
        .

        • rlm_Lorain

Gee, I don’t know what kind of people you run with, but I can assure you that I have never committed a “criminal act” of any kind. Have I done things I probably shouldn’t have? Of course. Were they criminal acts? Not on your life. Speak for yourself.

        • stayfocused

We all have a choice to say yes or no to drugs. Why not just play it safe. Stay away from the drug crowd and stay in tune with the word of God and Bible study. If you don’t want to then fine, take the chance of looking over your shoulder 24/7 if that sounds like the good life to you.

          • hottamomma

If u r tune with God u also have to look over it shoulder 24/7 cause the devil is trying to get in. And u got to keep him out.

        • Pablo Jones

That is something a sinner would say.

          • hottamomma

Like the bible said we all have sin

    • Mark B

Don’t forget higher and higher taxes chasing out the good people from the city

      • FoodForThought63

Sorry Mark but I had to chuckle at your comment. I recently purchased a home in Elyria in large part because it had the lowest taxes of any surrounding communities. I had to weigh out if I wanted to save on taxes or live in a more affluent area with less riff-raff and I ended up choosing the former. Sometimes I question whether or not I made the right decision, but the point is that Elyria’s taxes are relatively low.

        • Mark B

wait a couple years and tell me about your property taxes

          • It has to stop

So, in a couple of years that means the good people will have been “chased” out of here but currently they are still hanging around, right?

    • Scribbz

It doesn’t matter the reasons for the madness, he was a person, someone’s son, brother, nephew, friend! If he was guilty of anything, then “thinning the herd” should mean the justice system had a hand, not a vigilanty or someone who got pissed off! I am truly sorry for the family and friends of this young man and regardless if he was a “criminal” he may have had a great heart and personality!

    • Thats it

it had nothin to do with drugs

    • Paris Adams

You need to be quiet. Just because he sold drugs doesn’t mean he was a bad person or deserved to die. If you feel that way just keep your thoughts to yourself.

  • rick baker

You people sound just hateful, dealer or not, he was a man. A 22 year young black man, somebodys son, brother. A life is a life, im sorry for this loss and you people just view it as thinning the herd..sad and i will pray for you.

    • FoodForThought63

True and I feel for the family. But I wish our young people would see the light that if you get involved in drugs, there us a good chance this is where you’ll end up. And you’ll put your family through needless suffering due to your involvement with drugs. It’s a rather selfish way of life.

      • hottamomma

It’s true what u r saying. But u have remember young people r selfish and they don’t think, if only they make it to 35ish then they will be more mature and think before they do dumb sh#t

        • Pablo Jones

The vast majority of people don’t get involved with drugs and know right from wrong at a very early age. It’s just an excuse you are making for them to say once they are 35 they will know better. Raise the kids better and this won’t be much of an issue.

          • hottamomma

No I’m not saying once they r 35 they will no better, that’s just how u perceived it. I didn’t say it was okay. U were young once didn’t u do stupid stuff that wouldn’t do now. Most normal people have. And the reason was they were young and dumb. A 9 year old knows right from wrong but it doesn’t stop them from doing wrong cause of immaturity. And most men(no offense) take longer to mature. Yes that guys lifestyle was wrong. That doesn’t mean he deserve to die. A lot politicians do wrong and know better they r worst than the drug dealers, but don’t to many people bash them when they die

          • Kelvin Gray

I’m offended I tell ya. Who are you accusing of being a MAN? Surely you’re not putting me in that same category of some of the males on here. Well I’ve never…oh wait a minute…maybe I did just once or twice. My bad. Does it matter that I have NO COLOR to mention nor any crimes to go to prison for? Just a concerned individual?

          • hottamomma

            I wasn’t referring to u silly!

          • hottamomma

U r right about raising kids better. But these young non thinking kids r having kids. How r they gonna teach them when they don’t no. It should b against the law for people under 21 to have kids. Really should b 35. Lol

    • Razorback Twou

Hey rick, have you read any of the earlier reports about the record number of overdoses in the county? I ain’t judging, I’m just saying…

      • Jodi Asberry

my husband died September 1st 2012 of an overdose a lot of my friends have died due to their choice to use drugs I hold no ill will to the person he got the drugs from it was his choice and it has destroyed me and my life everyday I ache for his love but I would never want to inflict the loss n pain I feel on another family

        • stayfocused

My brother took his life with an overdose of drugs. It was a selfish act. We are supposed to be living for Jesus!!!! not for our own wants in life.

        • hottamomma

U have made the best statement in this whole comment page. Bless u and it family

    • Heath J

If not thinning the herd, then chlorine in the gene pool.

    • Paris Adams

Most of these people will be in church on Sunday signing up to do some work with the community… acting as if they don’t pass judgment. I pray the Lord shows more mercy on them than they have on others.

  • White Man

None of you idiots even know if this was drug related!! Nowhere in this story does it say anything about drugs!! White people with White mentality!! You guys are so amusing.

    • John Davidson

It was drug related alright. He was ether selling or owed for drugs. Either way one less problem for EPD.

      • Thats it

        no it was not

      • Guest

one less problem for EPD????? this coming from a lorain county drug task force cop??? HUMMMMMMM!!!!! tell us more officer Davidson,,,

      • hottamomma

It could’ve been over a female. Or parking spot. Or over stepping on someone shoes(u no how ignorant young folks r about their 300.00 pair of shoes). It could’ve been over he said she said or it could’ve been over drugs. But we don’t no

    • It has to stop

Thinking with the mentality of some of the regulars on here that race wouldn’t have mattered. Could be wrong. though.

This exact incident may not have been directly related to drugs but the point is that if you get involved in that life prison or early death will come to you. No one on here said anything about race. “white people with white mentailty” right. Who’s the racist. Not me better take a look in the mirror. No one could care what skin tone was involved. Only the criminal record sstands for itself. I wish these kids could get into something that will do them and their families some good. Drug dealer in general and drug addicts in general.

      • Prince Ali

A lot of speculations but no activist out there in the schools or in the streets doing anything about these situations. Until you (in general) are conscious of what is really going on then there will be nothing but defeat by economic castration and lack of education breeding anger in our devastated young men. This is bigger than what’s being portrayed in the news.

    • Zen Grouch

So… you can tell which posts are from the white devils with their white mentality?

Cool… now get back out there cuz that crack isn’t gonna sell itself.

      • Kelvin Gray

Knew it couldn’t be long before funny man chimed in. LOL!!! I swear I love you guys.

        • hottamomma

Kelvin u silly. U may not know who this is but I went to school with u.

          • Kelvin Gray

Hmm…you’re right. Find me some other way and introduce yourself. Right here and now is not the place. I’m HAVING WAY TO MUCH FUN right now.

    • stayfocused

Sounds like you are very book smart.

    • Paris Adams

      Amen!

  • guest

EPD turns a blind eye at most of the drug dealers in this city. They are too busy picking up extra shifts at places like Marcs so they can hit on teenaged girls. I know people who have been caught with drugs, had them confiscated, and were never charged. Where are the drugs now?? Up EPDs noses, and in their lungs.

    • taxpayer89

and you know this for a fact Guest? If the EPD arrested every douche bag for drugs, where would they take them? Elyria has no jail, so they cite the itdiot drug dealers and have to let them go. And they have side jobs because they are the lowest paid department in all of Ohio.

    • It has to stop

^^^^^^Rap sheet a mile long for dealing drugs^^^^^^^

    • stayfocused

It is pretty easy to pick out a druggy from a non. I’m having a bit of a hard time believing these cops are doing drugs.

      • hottamomma

Most politicians r on drugs, but I bet pick them out

  • Jodi Asberry

I don’t care what the man did to make money no one is without sin and that’s sad you heartless pieces of crap would say such hateful b.s im sure his mom n family are hurting enough without people being judge mental n evil to say he deserved to die is sad only God can judge and that’s why the police and ”justice” system are in place when people want to take the law into their own hands its going o get real bad maybe someone might think some of you deserve to die for disrespecting the dead it does not make it right my heart and prayers go out to his family

    • stayfocused

You don’t care what the man did to make money? Really? Have you ever learned how Judas Iscariot made his 30 pieces of silver?

      • stayfocused

Oh that’s right you don’t care what the man did to make money.

    • hottamomma

I’m with u who cares what he did to make money. He deserves respect weather he was a street drug dealer or one of politician drug dealer or even a garbage man. They all stink, but it doesn’t matter what they did once they pass away

  • nobodyyy

I was right down the street my boyfriend had talked to the girlfriend of the shooter i guess && he asked her what happened down the street && she had said her boyfriend && her were drinking he dont have a lincense and he hit 3 cars & they were running from the police but obviously she lied

    • Prince Ali

@ stay focused and taxpayer89… No disrespect intended to you; how well do you know your government and the history of the United States Corporation and classes of persons ? Or maybe Ivan Pavlov’s classical conditioning? How about the Federal United States Constitution and who is protected up under it? How involved are you in your community with the youth? These questions may be taken as rhetorical or however you choose , just not lightly. Again, I mean no harm to you but you must study before making such an bold opinion. I do agree with you however with “a” detail; that there is an economical problem amongst your nation . So where will you start to fix it citizen?

      • Becky

I grew up in Elyria..glad I no longer live there. I pray the scum of that city has no affect on the lives of my family who still remain. Weather they are involved in drugs or not. As for the EPD… Haha.. Not worth my time or thought.. Bastards!

  • John Demirjian

Just another dead black male. And another one gone. Good-bye.

    • hottamomma

The blacks my commit more crimes, but the whites get the most money from their crimes and they kill more people in one crime than blacks. Blacks rob MOM and pop stores where as whites rob armored trucks. Blacks will kill one person in a crime where as white we will try to kill as many people as possible in a school building or a mall. So we r not so different than the blacks. And who can blame them after what our ancestors did to them. Not saying it’s right what they r doing, but they r human also and deserve respect like any other person. It’s okay not to like someone, but don’t not like them cause of the color of their skin, they hearts also.

      • John Demirjian

Horsefeathers, momma. Black-on-black crime is what you’ve got.

        • hottamomma

So in other words u r calling the school massacres white on white crime?

          • John Demirjian

Unfortunately, you are politically incorrect. Black on black crime is notable. Whites are insignificant in your observation.

          • hottamomma

I’d rather be politically incorrect, than humanly incorrect like u. People like u make ashamed to be white u r an embarrassment. But that’s y we r all unique we can have our own opinions. But I do pray nothing happens to u or another family member where the only person that can save u or them is black. And it would be a shame if they recognize who u are and just walk away and let u or them die. But I think the black person would do what’s right anyway and save the person

          • John Demirjian

            He’s dead. Get over it.

          • hottamomma

            I bet I no who’s next

          • John Demirjian

Speak English. Use “know” when you’re supposed to.

          • hottamomma

I’m an individual I use what I want to use cause I can. Unlike u, u let people dictate to u what to do and how to do it. I do as I please. But I guess that was the only thing u could say(ha ha). By the way I’m not suppose to do anything but live and do gods will and die. I do what I do not what other people do.

          • John Demirjian

Use the language the way it was intended,

          • hottamomma

Like I said I’m not like u. I don’t listen to want other humans say. I listen to God and he say spell like u want and say it however u want. I treat everyone equally. Just because I’m white don’t make me better than anyone else. I treat blacks the same as whites and Chinese etc. The only people that I try not to talk to is white trash(u).

    • Kelvin Gray

LOL!!! Gotta love the man’s honesty. He’s definitely not hiding anything this morning.

  • Jamie Smith

Wow. Pretty sad story of a young man who was killed. Drug dealer or NOT he was a Son , Brother, Father, Friend and will be missed I’m sure. Its a very EVIL thing to say “Thinning of the Herd”. That person needs to ask forgiveness to the Lord for saying that. Sympathy to the Family.

    • John Demirjian

He definitely will be missed by his family. That’s the sad part of the story.

  • Kelvin Gray

I love how WE ALL BOUNCE all over the place except the true point of the story. Let’s see, we have NOW known male died. 2, No apparent motive at this time. 3, witnesses haven’t been identified as of yet. And clock is ticking because KILLER OR KILLERS are still on the loose. In the 1st 48 cops are on the prowl because the chance of catching a killer are significantly reduced after that. I thought THAT was the point. But I make be dead wrong. No pun intended.

  • the devil is a lie

Do you people even know that there is still a killer or killers on the loose. You all are only concerned about drugs. I don’t care if this man sold apples and oranges on the corner, someone still killed him, and are still roaming in Elyria. I think if yall don’t wanna be next or any of your family members, you would want these people found. I know I do. I wouldn’t wanna be heading out my house on my way to the grocery store and come face to face with the killer. Yall need to get yall mind right.

  • Zen Grouch

Convicted drug dealer shot to death under suspicious circumstances…
    …yeah, whatever.

What I want to know is, what kind of classy ladies might I expect to find in a bar called *T&A*

I mean, is this my one stop shopping location for when I’m feeling randy and need some smack?

  • sherrillface

This is not a game of wits people its another sad story about a sad situation
