Thurman C. Gray, 55, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 4, 2014, in the University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. He was born in Chattanooga Tennessee, coming to Elyria from Winchester, Tennessee in 1974.
Mr. Gray attended Elyria High School, and worked as a laborer for Ohio Metallurgical Service, of Elyria. He enjoyed playing card games, cooking, entertaining his friends and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his fiancee, Cherisse A. Walker of Elyria; daughters, Tamika Y. Gantt of Lorain, Lakisha, Tanniquea, Nekeyia Walker, all of Elyria; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Gloria J. Smith, Denita (Promis) Cabbil, Darlene (Mike) Gray, all of Elyria, Marie (Ray) Burks of Belvedere Tennessee and Jennifer Gray of Cowan, Tennessee; brothers, Eddie A. Gray of Tullahoma Tennessee, Leroy Gray of Knoxville Tennessee; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Gray.
Friends may call Thursday January 9, 2014, from 11A.M., until the time of service at 12 Noon, at the True Vine Primitive Baptist Church, 737 W. 18th St., Elyria. Reverend James Furcron, Jr., Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
