Douglas M. Reighley, 44, died suddenly Saturday, December 21, 2013, of unknown causes, in North Fort Myers, Florida. Doug was born in Oberlin, July 5, 1969 and made his home in the area, moving from Avon Lake to North Fort Myers eight years ago.
He was a graduate of Elyria High School with the class of 1988 and a veteran of the United States Navy. He earned his C.D.L. and was a driver/transporter. Doug loved most sports, especially football, basketball and baseball.
He is survived by his mother, Michelle Roberts of Westlake; two sisters, Halle Reighley of Avon and Wendy Reighley of Lorain; two nieces, Addison Reighley and Madilyn Reighley-Richards; and his paternal grandparents, George and Joan Reighley of Tempe, Arizona. He is also survived by two half-brothers and three half-sisters.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Reighley; and his maternal grandparents, Harry and Patricia Roberts.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Saturday, January 11, 2014, from 1 P.M., until the time of a memorial service at 3 P.M., in the funeral home. The Reverend David Schroyer will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Westwood Cemetery, Oberlin.
