Gendwefa Bzdak (nee Poslad) 79, of North Ridgeville, passed away unexpectedly Thursday January 9, 2014, at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. She was born March 18, 1934 in Poland and came to the area in 1965.
Gendwefa was a member of St. Mary Church. She was a talented seamstress, and enjoyed gardening, knitting, cooking and baking.
Survivors include four daughters, Barbara Edwards (Jack) of Nova, Donna Howard of Parma, Krystyna Kosobodzki of North Ridgeville, Theresa Blascak (Tim) of Grafton; three sons, Richard (Maria) of Seville, Mickey (Beata) of Parma, Walter of Avon Lake. Additional survivors include 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Gendwefa was preceded in death by her husband in 1999, Kazimierz; and a son, Stanley in 1998.
Family will receive friends today, Friday January 10, 2014, 4 until 7 P.M., at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626, where closing prayers will be at 1 P.M., Saturday, January 11, 2014. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 P.M., at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Ave., Elyria.
