Dorothy Ann “Dot” Wicks

Dorothy Ann “Dot” Wicks, 69, of Elyria, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 7, 2014, in the University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. She was born in Nashville Tennessee, coming to Elyria years ago.

Mrs. Wicks was a LPN at Elyria Memorial Hospital for 25 years, and also a LPN at Grafton Correctional Institution. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church of Oberlin. Mrs. Wicks was honored for her years of service and dedication as an exemplary nurse at Elyria Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed volunteering her skills as a nurse and a socialite for her family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking and playing card games.

Mrs. Wicks will be sadly missed by her daughter, Erika Lemieux; sister, Della Knight; brother, George WicksDorothy(Jamice) Estmond; and her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband, Ruben G. Wicks; parents, General George and Mary E. Estmond; brother, Christopher C. Coker.

Friends may call Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Second Baptist Church, 427 Chapman Lane, Elyria. Service will be Friday, January 17, 2014 in the church at 10 A.M. Pastor Steven Valles will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria.
