Critter Chronicles: Isby-Prison Graduate

Isby-friendship

Introducing Isby!  He’s pictured with volunteer Mike Wagner. He arrived from another facility in hopes of finding a home sooner at Friendship. He’s a strong but friendly fellow. Isby has a hunting instinct but would be fine using it in a fenced in backyard.  Isby is a great age, out of the puppy stage and ready to be a great family pet. Isby just returned from 12 weeks of training at the Grafton Correctional Institution. He is now a proud Prison Graduate. This is an explanation of the Prison Training Program the dogs go through. Each dog in the program receives approximately six hours of training each day that consists of basic command drills such as sit, stay, recall, socialization with other dogs, exercise walking the compound and play time with primary and secondary trainers that work in shifts over a 24-hour period. The trainers are selected using a strict criteria sheet based on their conduct and court record. They follow the Good Canine Citizenship Course.

Friendship has three other Prison Graduates available: Gummy Bear, Bindhi and Cocoa. Stop by soon before they are adopted.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.
