Donald Alan Pufnock, 52, of Lorain, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic, following a nine month battle with leukemia. He was born September 20, 1961 in Lorain, where he was raised.
Don graduated from Lorain High School in the class of 1979 and has been a lifetime resident of Lorain. He was self employed as a rental manager. Don was previously employed at Riddell/All American as a manager and at Luxury Heating as a installer.
He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, the Indians and Browns, but especially of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Don loved spending his summer on the Islands of Lake Erie boating and spending time with his friends. He had the ability to make new friends wherever he went.
Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Ann Pufnock (nee Snyder) of Lorain; his brothers and their wives, Richard A. Jr. and Sue Pufnock of Lorain, James M. and Deborah Pufnock of Port Clinton, Daniel R. and Elaine Pufnock of Geneva, New York and Jeffrey J. and Dawn Pufnock of LaGrange; 12 nieces and nephews and one great niece.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard A. Pufnock, Sr.; and his brother, David A. Pufnock in 1992.
Friends may call Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 1 to 5 P.M. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Closing Prayers will be held Monday, January 20, 2014 at 12:15 P.M. in the funeral home. Services will conclude with a Mass at 1 P.M. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 East Erie, Lorain. The Rev. Fr. Richard E. Hudak, Pastor, will officiate.
