Austin Tillman, 18, was charged with possession of a controlled substance about 7:15 p.m. at his apartment at 231 Oberlin Road on Thursday. Leo Tillman, 39, also was charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
Police arrived after Robert Malkowski told them he saw his pregnant girlfriend inside the apartment smoking what he thought was meth with her boss, Leo Tillman, according to the police report.
Leo Tillman came outside when police arrived and told officers that he was alone in the house and that he didn’t have any weapons or drugs with him.
However when officers asked to search him, Leo Tillman agreed but quickly changed his answer, telling police that he had several small knives in his pockets. Police searched the 39-year-old and found what they believed was a crack cocaine stem along with three pocket knives.
When police questioned Leo Tillman about the crack stem, he told them that it “could” have been used to smoke meth and that sometimes he smokes meth to help him get over his heroin addiction, according to the report.
Officers went into the apartment after talking to Leo Tillman and found Austin Tillman and Malkowski’s girlfriend, along with a Vicodin pill and another crack cocaine stem, according to the report.
Police charged Leo and Austin Tillman and tested the suspected crack stem, which came back positive for cocaine, according to the report.
The two men were held at Lorain County Jail. Their next court appearance is at 10 a.m. Friday at Elyria Municipal Court.
