William B. Luncford, 77, of Lorain, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, following a sudden illness. William was born February 6, 1936, in Missouri, and raised in Kansas, before moving to Lorain, where he had made his home for the last 55 years.
William worked as a lab technician for B.F. Goodrich for 22 years, before retiring. He was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Amherst. He enjoyed many things such as camping, NASCAR racing, and fishing. By far his most favorite past time was spending time with his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 56 years, Donna Ruth Luncford (nee Emery); his daughters, Barbara (Mike) King of Brownhelm Twp. and Sally (Tim) Hedrick of Camden Twp.; his daughter-in-law, Carole Luncford of Elyria; seven grandchildren, Sarah (David) Williams, Jason Crowe, Joshua Crowe, Stephanie Hedrick, Samantha Hedrick, Tyler (Brittany) Luncford, and Kyle Luncford.
William was preceded in death by his son, William James Luncford in 1997; his brother, Larry Luncford; and his parents, Clifford and Ruth Luncford (nee Fitch).
Friends may call Tuesday, January 21, 2014, from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. and 7 P.M. to 9 P.M., at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at 11 A.M., at the funeral home. The Rev. William Kopas, Pastor of Camden Baptist Church, Wellington, will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
