Edward “Tread” Treadway

Edward “Tread” Treadway, 83, of Oberlin, passed away Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin, after a lengthy illness. He was born September 21, 1930 in Eccles, TreadwayEdwardOBIT FLAGWest Virgnia.

Edward worked for Kroger’s as a meat cutter for 27 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Edward had many interests including gardening, woodworking, enjoying singing gospel music and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his daughters, Cami (Mark) Hatfield of Oberlin, Jami (William R. III ) Chapman of Elyria; son, Mark S. Treadway of Sullivan; sister, Sue (Dwayne) Johnston of Inola, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Pat (nee Mann); and his parents, John Quincy and Fannie Jane (nee Pettry).

The family will receive friends from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M., Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria, where Service will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, January 25, 2014. Family member, Todd Tenaglia will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, where full military honors will be provided by VFW Post #1079.
