ELYRIA – Police searched the home of a suspected drug trafficker on Wednesday and say they found the man with his girlfriend, his infant child and more than 500 grams of various drugs in the house.
As a result, Matthew Stinson, 24, of 424 Wesley Ave., was charged with trafficking heroin, cocaine and marijuana as well as possession of heroin, cocaine, marijuana, suboxone and drug paraphernalia.
Police executed the search warrant following tips they received over the past few weeks, according to Elyria Police Capt. Chris Costantino. When they entered the house, police found Stinson with his girlfriend and their 6-month-old child in the living room.
They say they found two semi-automatic handguns in the house, 18 grams of heroin, 498 grams of marijuana and 1.4 grams of cocaine as well as an undisclosed amount of money throughout the house.
Children Services was called to investigate the welfare of Stinson’s infant child.
Stinson was brought to Lorain County Jail, where he is being held on a $231,500 bond until his court date at 1 p.m. on Jan 30 in Elyria Municipal Court.
