An Oregon man is facing felony drug charges after a traffic stop in Lorain County on Wednesday.

Jon Dangelo, 44, of Eugene, Ore., was stopped by State Highway Patrol troopers for a failure to signal violation at 4:34 p.m. near milepost 135 on the Ohio Turnpike, according to a news release from the Patrol.

Troopers observed criminal indicators, and a drug-sniffing canine alerted on the 1996 Mercedes. A search revealed 32 pounds of marijuana, worth about $144,000, in the vehicle’s trunk, according to the release.

Dangelo was charged with aggravated drug trafficking and possession of marijuana, both third-degree felonies. If convicted he could face up to 10 years in prison and up to a $20,000 fine.

He is being held at the Lorain County Jail.

Can’t we just ship this stuff to Colorado, where it can be legally sold, with the proceeds going back to the State Highway Patrol?

    • Bluesky

No funds should go to the organizations that hand out the fines. That’s what gives us such a corrupt government.

      • formerlorainresident

        It was a joke.

        • willlam

That was no joke. You were serious!

  • Pablo Jones

It was really 35 pounds. People are going to be having fun this weekend.

  • Zen Grouch

$144,000 for 32 pounds? That’s some mighty expensive pot.

Glad I found a more reasonable place to buy mine…

    • willlam

That is that Canadian or N.Cali.pot. 150% THC,compared to your 23% THC garbage.

      • Zen Grouch

I don’t know much about THC content, especially how it is you can get 150%, but I do know through experimentation with my vaporizer that 0.15 grams of Snoop Dog gets me too stoned to function anything other than the remote to the home theater.

If that’s “garbage” then call me the garbage man, ‘cuz me likie very much!

      • jz

That is that, and 150 percent THC. Typo? Maybe. Either way he flunked English, grammar and math all in two sentences.

        • willlam

Typo…….37% is the high THC count. The 150% is moonshine. Thanks for pointing that out. 150% THC…..WOW!!!!

          • Zen Grouch

Talk about your apples and oranges!

            Moonshine vs. sticky bud?

            And it ain’t 150%… it’s 150 proof.

          • willlam

Yep,you’re right. I should know better than to argue with a “dope head”! Proof not percentage. Are you an alcoholic, also? You need help my friend!

          • Oneday67

“I should know better than to post on topics I know little about…”

Very funny. It seems to be your MO

          • jz

So people who drink alcohol and know what the heck they are talking about are “alchies”. Dopehead? I see no proof he either a dopehead or alcoholic. Man. Quit while you’re ahead.

          • Zen Grouch

You need a tutor my friend…

the old lane change violation excuse

    • AFITgrad86

They had to have some reason .. but then again some drivers think signals are optional and stop signs are merely suggestions… LOL But I get your point. It was a pretty flimsy excuse for the stop. Should have at least been a “taillight out” /sarc.

      • ken

use of turn signals is the law. that law should be enforced more often.
