Thomas H. Brown, formerly of Elyria, passed away in Indianapolis, Indiana, Thursday, January 9, 2014, from complications of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He was diagnosed in 2005. Tom was born December 28, 1946 to Truman H. Brown and Virginia Rowland Brown in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by both parents.
Tom was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed model railroads. He graduated from Elyria High School in 1965 and Baldwin Wallace College. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He worked in the banking industry and retired in 1998 when he and Rita became full time travelers in their RV.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rita Coonley Brown; their son, Michael A. Brown; granddaughter, Amber V. Brown; great grandson, Julian N. Brown; his sister, Judith Anderson of Elyria; step father, George Hoffman, also of Elyria.
Tom donated his body to Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology for education and research.
