Avon Lake crime: Resident reports theft of cell phone, sword

4:44 p.m. Jan. 18 — 100 block Burton St., theft of a sword and a cell phone from a home, with no forced entry.

Friday, Jan. 17

  • 9:11 a.m. — 32300 block Birchwood Lane, police said a wreath was removed from a resident’s home and Christmas lights were disturbed at the house. A neighbor later reported finding the wreath hanging on his lamppost.

Monday, Jan. 20

  • 11:05 a.m. — 31900 block Tradewinds Drive, a caller reported that a man driving a blue Dodge pick-up was going through her garbage.
  • 4:30 p.m. — 100 block Curtis Drive, a juvenile arrested during an alleged domestic violence incident with his father.
  • 6:11 p.m. — 32500 block Breakers Boulevard, reported burglary of a home.

Tuesday, Jan. 21

  • 7:50 p.m. — 500 block Hyannis Port Drive, a man reported that his neighbor was “antagonizing” his dog. Police attempted to speak with the neighbor, but the person refused to answer the door.
  • 9:01 p.m. — 100 block Moore Road, a man told police that someone drove through his yard that evening.

Wednesday, Jan. 22

  • 1:45 p.m. — 33300 block Lake Road, a caller reported that an elderly female struck a city vehicle and was attempting to leave. The caller took the woman’s keys.
