Rudolf A. “Rudy” Schroff, 85, of Vermilion, formerly of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Kingston of Vermilion, after complications from a stroke. Rudy was born January 22, 1929 in Elsen, Germany.
He was employed as a tool and die maker at General Motors in Parma and at B.F. Goodrich in Avon Lake, where he retired. He was a hard worker, enjoyed his grandchildren and spending summers in Canada.
Rudy is survived by his son, David Schroff (Shelia) of Darby, Montana; daughters, Kathleen A. Gilles (Len) of Amherst and Pamela A. Foster (Doug) of Coshocton, Ohio; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren; brother, Manfred Schroff of London, Ontario.
He was preceded in death by his wife Helene “Adele” Schroff in 2003; and his parents, Joseph and Erna (Kopke).
A private family burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
