Ronald James Hubbard, 56 years of age, beloved father and son and a resident of Lorain, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, following a lengthy illness. He was born March 17, 1957 in Lorain. He was a lifetime resident of Lorain, graduating from Brookside School in the class of 1976.
Ronald was employed at York International for five years as a line laborer. He was a gifted mechanic and loved cars and motorcycles. Ronald loved disco and rock and roll music and dancing.
Survivors include his mother, Virginia Armstrong of Lorain; his son, Ronald Nathaniel Hubbard of Lorain; his daughter and her husband, Sherry and James Sandman of Amherst; three grandchildren; his brothers, Robert Hubbard of Vermilion, Randy Hubbard of Amherst and Harold “Gene” Hubbard of Lorain; Uncle Esra “Sony” Hubbard of West Virginia, Uncle Arnold Hubbard of Texas and Uncle Ray Hubbard of West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Hubbard; and infant sister, Genie Marie Hubbard.
Friends may call Saturday, February 1, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Funeral services will be held 8 P.M., at Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. The Reverend Karen Kizer will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be to the family.
