Lorain blotter: Two women charged with drug possession after traffic stop

8:55 p.m. Jan. 28 — McDonald’s, 1725 Henderson Dr., Dawn Cassidy, 39, 3700 block Temple Ave., Lorain, arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Courtney Griffin, 28, 4900 block Southview Drive, Vermilion, arrested and charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia and cited for a stop sign violation. Police said they saw a car driven by Griffin with Cassidy in it leave a suspected drug house and not make a complete stop at a red light before parking at the McDonald’s. They said they found drugs and drug paraphernalia in the car and marijuana and a crack cocaine pipe on Cassidy.

Tuesday, Jan. 28

  • 10:56 a.m. — 4600 block Norfolk Ave., a woman said someone removed the oil filter from her car parked in the driveway of her sister’s home overnight. The removal caused all of the motor oil to drain from the car. Police said they found the filter near where her car had been parked. The woman suspects her ex-husband, who she said is jealous about her becoming involved with another man.
  • 7:01 p.m. — 300 block W. Ninth St., a resident said two men feuding with her boyfriend shot into her home, smashing a bedroom window, but police said the broken window didn’t appear to be shot out.

Wednesday, Jan. 29

  • 2:16 a.m. — Off Shore Pub & Grub, 1407 Colorado Ave., a customer said someone stole his jacket from the bar with his car keys in it and stole his 2009 GMC Acadia, which was parked outside the bar. Police said they later found the Acadia without the keys in it behind apartments at 2615 Washington Ave.

    Brilliant Police Work!

    Arrest someone leaving a suspected drug house, then release all pertinent information to the press so the folks running that drug house will learn they’re under suspicion, pack their s*** and set up operations somewhere else while the cops are STILL gathering enough evidence for a warrant to make a raid.
