Elyria police

Saturday, Feb. 1

  • 2:23 p.m. — 1000 block Lowell St., a woman reported theft of $200 from the vehicle owner manual. The woman told officers she asked a man she knew only as an acquaintance to drive her to a local bar because she was too intoxicated to drive herself. Before she exited the vehicle, she put $200 in the owner’s manual inside the glove compartment. After being at the bar, she began to feel too sick to drive home. She informed officers that her “soda had been ‘roofied’” and a friend drove her home. When she returned to the bar, she retrieved her car keys and found the manual with the cash inside missing.
  • 5:59 p.m. — 100 block Tedman Court, Fredrick F. Farris, 22, Lorain, charged with vandalism after officers responded to the location in reference to a “loud disturbance.” Officers arrived and learned that Farris broke a window. The woman living in the house was trying to call police, but Farris took her phone away. She then ran to the neighbor’s house to call 911, leaving behind her 3-year-old son and 3-month-old daughter in the home. The children were unharmed.
  • 8:19 p.m. — 1000 block Chestnut Commons, Wal-Mart Super Center, Andrew H. Agee, 21, Elyria, and Vanessa L. Lisk, 24, Elyria, were each charged with theft by deception after a security officer saw them select numerous items, including food and other items, place them in a cart and moved down an aisle. They then placed the items into several shopping bags and past all points of sale. The value of the items totaled $257.55.
