ELYRIA — An Elyria man was arrested Tuesday after a search of his apartment turned up heroin, police said.
Marcus Martin, 25, of Elyria, was charged with five counts of trafficking heroin, possession of heroin and possession of criminal tools and drug paraphernalia about 10 a.m. Tuesday in his apartment at 525 S. Abbe Road.
For the past few weeks, the Elyria police narcotics division has investigated Martin’s alleged drug activity. One of his heroin sales was made in the presence of a child, according to Elyria police Capt. Chris Costantino.
Costantino said that police, along with the department’s Special Response Team, searched the apartment on South Abbe Road on Tuesday morning and found heroin, scales and money. Two other adults at the apartment were not arrested, Costantino said.
Martin was being held at Lorain County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
