Lorain blotter: Mother cited for allowing son to fight another boy

  • 11:18 a.m. — 400 block E. 26th St., a resident said someone burglarized his basement apartment stealing a bracelet, $400 in cash and a video game. The resident suspects a former roomate who recently moved out. Police said a window to the apartment was broken to gain entry and a shoeprint was found in the driveway.
  • 2:51 p.m. — George Daniel Stadium, 2601 Oberlin Ave., Jessica Cortes, 37, 2900 block Devore Court, Lorain, cited for disorderly conduct, endangering children and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Cortes admitted to allowing her son to fight another boy who the son said was harassing him, police said.
  • 11:36 p.m. — Lorain Police Department, 100 W. Erie Ave., Robert Dripcheck, 29, 1000 block W. 18th St., Lorain, arrested and charged with domestic violence. Police said Dripcheck’s girlfriend showed them threatening text messages he sent her after she said he became angry when she refused to let him drive her vehicle because he has a suspended license. One message said, “I’m going to beat you within an inch of your life,” according to police.

    So did they arrest and site the other boy’s parents for permitting their son to harass the offender’s son? I guess in this day and age where a minor dispute can turn into homicide, this has become necessary. However if BOTH the assailants aren’t addressed, then the system has solved NOTHING.
