Dorothy V. Niemiec (nee Kozel), 88, of Westlake Village, California, formerly of Lorain and Amherst, died peacefully Friday, January 31, 2014. She was born in Pennsylvania on March 16, 1925.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking and crocheting. While raising their family, Dorothy was an active member of Nativity BVM Catholic Churchand School in Lorain.
She is survived by her son, Tom (Eileen) Niemiec of North Ridgeville; daughters, Diane (Bill) Hall of Satellite Beach, Florida, Gail (Nick) Motto of Elk Grove, California and Andrea (Dewey) Perrigo of Westlake Village, California; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Andy in 2000; son, Terry in 2013; parents, Jack and Mary (nee Pavol) Kozel; sisters, Mary Faulhaber, Rose Gibbons, Frances Conrath, Cecilia Yourkievich and Theresa Mey; brothers, John and Joseph Kozel.
Friends will be received Sunday, February 9, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Misencik Funeral Home, 36363 Detroit Road, Avon, where closing prayers will be Monday, February 10, 2014 at 9:15 A.M., followed by a 10 A.M. Mass at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th St., Lorain, with Rev. Robert Glepko, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
