Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is asking for the public’s help to find 173 of the state’s unregistered sex offenders, four of whom are listed as Lorain County residents.

The attorney general’s website contains a database of the state’s sex offenders. The 173 sex offenders who are deemed noncompliant have not registered an address or provided an incorrect address, according to Jill Del Greco, spokeswoman for the attorney general.

Del Greco said the attorney general’s office utilized its Facebook page to inform residents to look out for the offenders and call their local sheriff’s office or (855) BCI-OHIO with tips.

“It’s the law that they have to update where they’re living, and it’s important for people to look at the database and see who’s in their area,” she said.

The four Lorain County residents who do not comply with the law are Calvin Campbell and James Graham III, both of Lorain, Jonathan Chapin of Elyria, and Max Torgerson of Oberlin.

Their crimes include importuning of a sexual nature, rape, corruption of a minor and compelling prostitution, according to the registry.

Del Greco said residents can use the sex offender registry to search for noncompliant offenders, as well as those registered in their area. The attorney general also features one sex offender each month who victimized a child and does not comply with the law, she said.

Del Greco said social media, such as Facebook, has proven to be a valuable tool in tracking down noncompliant sex offenders.

“We do get in tips from the public,” she said.

this doesn’t surprise me. why were they released,in the first place?the legal system never considers the victims or consider the chance that they will commit the crime..again&again. it’s a incurable sick disease, that once committed, they should never have a chance for freedom again. the victims loses mental&emotional freedom, every day of their life, after the attack.

**this doesn’t surprise me. why were they released,in the first place?**

They have to make room in the prisons for drug abusers.

      • Arietta Sullivan

i feel sexual crimes are a lot more serious then someone abusing drugs.i do see how either crime needs jail time&hardcore counseling but with drug abusers..they have a better outcome to stop using drugs then a predator stop looking for his/her victims.

        • Zen Grouch

          I’m sorry…

I remember making the statement, but I can’t quite remember defending the reasoning behind the facts of that statement.

      • Arietta Sullivan

and besides the fact..i have never heard of someone only abusing drugs go to prison but i have heard someone going to prison if they were under the influence of a drug and committed a SERIOUS crime, while being under the influence.

        • Zen Grouch

It may be a fact that you’ve never heard of someone going to prison for being a lowly drug abuser…

          …but it’s also a fact that I have.

If you abuse certain drugs in front of a cop, you may very well go to jail.

If you don’t believe me, give it a shot.

Maybe we can make a wager.

What kind of sick bast*** would cast a down vote on that post?

      **FormerToadBoy… is that you?**

      • Sean MacNair

I cast a down vote just to piss you off :)

        • Arietta Sullivan

the comment should be ‘voted down’.it made no sense to compare a drug abuser to a person who commits sexual crimes.a drug abuser hurts themselves.a person who does a sexual crime, hurts innocent people.

          …welcome to my life

      • Arietta Sullivan

wow lol i have been noticing that it seems a witch hunt has been out for this ‘toad’/'formertoadboy’,not sure if they are the same person but does everyone on here know each other, personally,or is it just a bunch of strangers arguing, repeatedly, their opinions?

        • John Boy

Ask “Zen” about his new business he is trying to get off the ground, it’s fresh!
I don’t vote down his comments, I agree with everything he says. He has a super-sized brain and is way smarter than anyone else that posts. Once you hear about his business angle you will agree.
He might say some weird things every once it a while, but you have to realize the stress he is under coming up with ideas for his business. Keep it fresh my friend.

It does no good to make a report , there is a guy on furnace st that is a registered sex offender living less than 1000 fet of a school and has been reported many times and nothing is ever done, in the summer there are all kids of kids that hang out at his house , again , nothing is ever done , so people get tired of calling and complaing .

Not all sex offenders are pedophiles!

  • stop ur whining part deux

Just read a country has instituted a law for second time pedophiles. After their sentences is served they castrate the offender. The pedophile can even have his sentence suspend if he volunteers for the procedure.

Why can we not do that in the US? I am 100% in favor of a repeat pedophile / rapist / molester having their reproductive organs removed.

Does anyone honestly think it would prove ineffective?

    • beety

This should be the solution! There is no rehabilitation for this type of sickness!

      • beety

Aww… down vote for me. Someone is a pedophile who believes there is a chance for them. I am sooooo sad.

    • Arietta Sullivan

i do see where you are coming from but unfortunately one doesn’t need their reproductive organs to molest, rape, gross sexual..however you want to word it..it’s all the same to me.

      • stop ur whining part deux

It like a dog…castrate them and they lose their desire to hump. Same situation.

  • Phil Blank

    Its no wonder!
They all put down Catholic Charities as their home address and there are no beds there and no place to sleep there. The sheriff knows that and I’ve told them that over a year ago, but it still continues and they let it.
