Sarah B. Myers

Myers_SarahSarah B. Myers (nee Vogt), 101, of Elyria, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Life Care Center of Elyria. She was born February 25, 1912, in Norwalk, and lived in Elyria since 1943.

Mrs. Myers was a homemaker and worked for 30 years as a poll worker for the Lorain Co. Board of Elections. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Elyria, where she was active for over 50 years. She was a member of the YWCA Pentagon Club and enjoyed babysitting, dog sitting, feeding the birds and tending her flower and vegetable gardens. She liked to watch baseball, football, and especially golf.

She is survived by one daughter, Margaret L. Nolan of Elyria; two grandchildren, Timothy H. Nolan and Kathleen L. Nolan; two great-grandchildren, Jessica Nolan and Emily Krueck; two great-great-grandchildren, Kaylah and Siriana; and many nieces and nephews and dear neighbors

Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her husband, William N. Myers in 1976; one brother, John R. Vogt; and her parents, Walter P. and Sarah (nee Waddell) Vogt.

Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Sunday, February 9, 2014, from 4 P.M., until the time of the service, in the funeral home, at 7 P.M. The Reverend Beth McKee, Chaplain of Wesleyan Village, will officiate. Burial will be Monday, February 10, 2014, at Hartland Ridge Cemetery, Norwalk, at 12 Noon.
