Critter Chronicles: River

rivernew

River was rescued alongside a road and no one ever came looking for her.  It appears she may not have had a good life and possibly suffered from some abuse.  River is one very smart girl and has spent some time with a trainer.  She gets along great with other dogs and they seem to help her be a more confident dog.  We think she probably should go to a home without cats – a bit too interested in them.  She’s good with children but they should be at least 10 years old and respectful of dogs.  River has been in a foster home so she has learned her house manners and is housetrained.  She is also crate trained.  She loves to go for car rides and is a great co-pilot.  River is a bit on the high energy side so we prefer a fenced in yard for her and she will need a daily walk and some exercise.  After that she will be content to just be with you.  River will need an adopter who can give her the guidance to not fear new people, someone who is dog savvy.  She’s a great girl and just wants the opportunity to be loved and taken care of.
