Agents of the Lorain County Drug Task Force, along with detectives from the Lorain Police Department Narcotics Unit and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, arrested an inmate at the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office – Corrections Facility.
Maurice Palmer, of Lorain, was arrested for bribery, trafficking marijuana, possession of heroin and cocaine.
The arrest was the result of an investigation by the DEA involving Palmer who had solicited a LCCF corrections officer to smuggle drugs into the facility in exchange for money for each delivery. As a result of the investigation, Palmer was taken into custody Monday after meeting and delivering marijuana and $250 cash to the officer to deliver to the inmate.
In addition, three others were arrested when Palmer was placed under arrest: Jeffrey and Kayla Gregg of Lorain and Darieon Farris, of Lorain, were all arrested for two felony counts of possession of heroin and cocaine.
The investigation will be presented to the Lorain County Grand Jury.
