Gertrude was employed by General Motors as an assembler for 15 years. She had several interests, including Bingo, shopping, going to restaurants, gardening and spending time with family.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Alex; daughters, Betty Lunn, Gertie Balogh, Lilly Scott; sons, Rick (Amy), Clifton (Lisa), all of Elyria; sisters, Betty Mounts of Phelps, Kentucky, Helen Norman of Freeburn, Kentucky; 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah and Rebecca (nee Mounts); son, James; sisters, Madeline Dotson, Mildred Chapman, Lois Frazier; brothers, Jimmy, Kermit, and Irvin.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, February 18, 2014, from 10 A.M., until time of service at 12 Noon, at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626. Pastor James Monday will officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
