Congratulations Sandra (nee Afrates) and Richard Kastl on celebrating 50 years of marriage!
Their children held an anniversary party for them in the fellowship hall of Faith United Methodist Church.
The couple was married February 8, 1964 at First Evangelical United Brethren Church in Lorain. The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Paul W. Kirk, assisted by Rich’s cousin, Reverend Dale Sauer. A celebration of marriage was held at the fellowship hall of First Evangelical United Brethren Church.
Sandra retired from Lorain City Schools as a paraprofessional on June 30, 2008, after 23 years of employment. She is active in church activities at Faith United Methodist Church.
Richard retired from the City of Lorain Fire Department on July 29, 1995 as a Lieutenant, after 31 years of employment. His interests and hobbies are working on cars, watching the grandchildren, playing sports, following Lorain City schools football and basketball games, as well as watching the Lorain Ironmen Baseball team.
The couple have five children, Carolyn (Jim) Clancy of Olmsted Township, Rick (Sharon) Kastl of Vermilion, Joycelyn Kastl of Tipp City, Ohio, Jackie Kastl of South Lake Tahoe, California and Robyn (Jason) Kaufman of Kettering, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Cassie, Kelly and Kevin Clancy, Richie and Brooke Kastl and Megan, Lindsey and Bethany Kaufman.
