NORTH RIDGEVILLE — Police are hunting for the man who robbed a Lorain Road motel over the weekend.

The incident occurred about 9:30 p.m. Saturday when a man walked into the Super 8 Cleveland Motel at 32801 Lorain Road near the junction of Interstate 480 and the Ohio Turnpike.

According to North Ridgeville police Patrolman Brad Parker, the man entered the motel lobby while a female clerk was in a back room.

“The guy leaned over the counter and grabbed money from an open cash drawer,” Parker said.

The sound of the drawer being shut by the thief alerted the desk clerk, who quickly returned to the lobby and went outside to look for the man.

“By the time she tried to look for him, she couldn’t see anything,” Parker said.

It is not known whether the man left the motel on foot, drove away in a car or had someone waiting for him in a vehicle.

Police said the man made off with about $75. It was not known whether the suspect was armed.

Anyone with any information concerning the robbery is asked to contact Parker by calling North Ridgeville police at (440) 327-2191.

Well, duh, why did she leave the drawer open and walk away? No, he wasn’t right to steal the money, but don’t make it easier for him. Geez!
