Aldea E. “Dee” Slauter (nee Myers) 76, of Lorain died Monday, February 17, 2014 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain. She was born May 17, 1937 in Elyria and was a 1955 graduate of Elyria High School.
She was employed by the Elyria City Schools in various positions for 22 years retiring as librarian at Prospect Elementary School in 1997. Dee was a member of The American Theatre Chorus and Amherst Community Chorus. She enjoyed square dancing, golf, travel and spending time with her family.
Dee is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles W. Slauter; daughter, Eleanore “Lolly” (Dave) Gibbs of Lorain; sons, David Slauter of Dayton and Jeffrey (Ann) Slauter of Cleveland; grandchildren, Kayley Gibbs and Michael, Jessica and Rachel Slauter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Aldea Myers; sister, Carrol Carlin and brothers, William and Eugene Myers.
Friends will be received Thursday February 20, 2014 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral Mass will be Friday February 21, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. in St. Agnes Church, 611 Lake Avenue, Elyria. Reverend Albert Veigas will be the Celebrant. Inurnment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
