Sandra Jean Loar (nee Trott), 73, of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She was born on February 9, 1941 in Hillsdale, Michigan to the late Clarence and Sarah (nee Jones) Trott.
Sandra grew up in Carlisle Township and graduated from Midview High School in 1959. Since 1967, she has lived in Lorain. Sandra enjoyed watching football and basketball games. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR races on TV or going to watch the races in person.
Surviving are her children, Terri Andrews of Lorain, Michelle (Cliff) Resor of Vermilion, Rebecca (Chuck) Loar-Stottlemire of Lorain, Deborah Loar of Wakeman, Judy (David Craigo) Loar, John (Rachel) Loar, Chris Loar and Jimmy Loar all of Lorain; grandchildren, Sarah Andrews, David Andrews, James Andrews, Courtney Loar, James Loar, Isy Loar, Brett Resor, Lyndsey Loar, Savannah Craigo, David Craigo Jr., and Shelby Craigo; and a great granddaughter, Sophia Haines.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Earl, this past December 22, 2013; her brother, Larry Phillip Trott, in 2000, and her son in law, David D. Andrews in 2009.
The Loar Family will receive friends on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Funeral service will be on Saturday at 11 A.M. in the funeral center. Chaplain Roger Loomis, of Crossroads Hospice, will officiate. A combined burial with her husband’s cremains will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
