Terry Lee Scott, 51, of Elyria, entered into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain, following a brief illness. Terry was born in Tecumseh, Michigan on January 28, 1963, and resided in Ohio after moving here during childhood.
He attended Murray Ridge Center for over 30 years, where he also worked in the workshop. Terry loved sports and was a fan of Cleveland professional teams. He was a Special Olympian and has been inducted into the Murray Ridge Special Olympics Hall of Fame for earning more than 30 gold medals in swimming, and a total of 71 medals overall. Terry attended College Heights Baptist Church for many years and loved the Lord.
He is survived by three brothers, George Scott (Fran), Richard Scott (Keri) and Jim White (Sandy); loving parent, Carol Carroll and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Claudia Carroll; and two sisters, Gail Leininger (the late Chuck) and Vickie Murdock.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 2 P.M. until the time of the service at 4 P.M. at College Heights Baptist Church, 980 Abbe Road North, Elyria. Pastor Darrell Deer will officiate. Burial will be Monday, February 24, 2014 at 11 A.M. at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy New Life Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
