Woman charged in Ford plant theft

AVON LAKE — Police are investigating a potential theft at Ford Motor Co.’s Ohio Assembly Plant, which has resulted in one arrest.

Avon Lake police Sgt. Reed Reikowski said plant security called police in November to report a suspicious condition and theft of items. After an investigation, Melissa Jankulovich, 33, of Sheffield, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.

Jankulovich is scheduled to appear 8:30 a.m. today in Avon Lake Municipal Court. Bond was set at $10,000.

Reikowski would not say whether Jankulovich worked at the plant. He said further details could not be released, as the case is still under investigation.

No one else had been arrested in connection with investigation as of Monday afternoon, according to Reikowski.
